INSURANCE IN CUBA
After the damage from Hurricane Sandy in New York, USA, it was clear that no one is immune from the wrath of nature and in Havana Cuba there is no difference when it comes to natural disasters. The key is to protect yourself in advance before the storm hits not scramble for cover after the damage has already been done.

Insurance protection in Cuba came to the forefront during the last hurricane as millions of people were effected by the high winds and tsunami like waves that kept pounding the Cuban coastline. Tourist were protected because of the foresight that the Cuban ministry of tourism had by making mandatory Travel, Health and disability Insurance available to the 2 million foreign tourist that vacation in Havana, Varadero & the best beaches of Cuba.

Even though the waves were as high as 30 meters in some areas the Cuban government had already evacuated everyone that was in a low lying area of Cuban beaches thus preventing any deaths during the hurricane that devastated other islands and the eastern coastline of the United States.

Varadero Beach, Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo and Trinidad were not damaged during the storm however many trees and older buildings with weak foundations did collapse under the heavy rainfall.

Cuba was pleased that no tourist were injured and that every single tourist was fully protected by the new mandatory insurance policies that came into effect this year across Cuba.

Cuba Insurance can be found at every airport and travel agency in Cuba
